February 13: Rick made cheese cake for FHE and Jared said, "I want some married cake!" I couldn't figure it out until Rick pointed out that they had little cheese cakes at the reception last night.
Friday 21: When the kids listen to their Sesame Street CD, there is a
song called, "Happy Tapping with Elmo." They like to put on their tap shoes and tap
dance on the kitchen floor. Jase and
Jared wanted to do it today and so Jared shouted, "Let's go get our
CLAPPING shoes!"
Sunday 23: This one isn't a "funny," but so sweet! Our cute kids sang in church and did a FANTASTIC job! Rick played the piano -- Teach Me to Walk in
the Light -- (he has been working on his piano skills lately) and Janika and
Jase sang. Jase sang the first verse all
by himself and Janika sang the second verse by herself and then they sang the
last verse together. They remembered all
of the words and didn't seem nervous at all.
On the second verse instead of "Come little child and together
we'll learn..." Janika sang,
"Come little brother, together we'll learn..." It was sweet and there were people dabbing at
their eyes. It really brought the
spirit. Anyway, we couldn't believe how many comments and compliments we got on
it. We had gone on Saturday to have them
practice with the microphone and practice going up and down. That REALLY helps. Janika sounded really good -- right on
pitch. It was really sweet!
Friday 28: Today was the Primary Talent Show. Janika played “Indian Drums” on the Piano and
Jase sang “Grandpa Gums” from our “Cleanliness” tape. We were practicing before we went (the song
is about brushing your teeth). The
lyrics say: “….brush them everyday to
keep them clean and white…” Well Jase was singing “brush them everyday to keep
them clean and wide…” so I told him that it was “white” not “wide.” Well, anyway, he was singing his song in the
talent show and sang “brush them everyday to keep them clean and wide…and then
he realized his mistake and shouted “white!!
I mean white!!” It was so funny!!
