Everett turns FOUR!!

Janika and Brandon were in town this weekend, along with Brandon's family, and so it worked out well to celebrate Everett's 4th birthday! They had purchased a little bike and had it shipped to our house so that Grandpa could put it together before they came.

In the morning Everett woke up to balloons falling from his door. Then he opened a few presents from his mom and dad and the magnet set from us. Then he went outside for a surprise -- a new bike!! They decided to to skip the training wheels since he was already used to his little strider bike (with no pedals). It didn't take him long to pick it up. A day or so later, after they returned back home, they sent videos of Everett whizzing around on his new bike!

All of Brandon's family were in town staying at a condo and they all came over for the birthday party. Janika and Brandon picked up pizza and a big personalized birthday cake from Costco. We even had a very special visit from Spiderman!!! He was a HUGE hit!! He played games outside with Everett and his cousins and did a few tricks on the tramp!

Then we came in for pizza, pop, lemonade, and birthday cake! Then all of the kids went swimming!! After the party all of the adults went to Tuacahn to see Les Mis and Audrey Williams came over to babysit Everett and Callan. Jenna babysat the other kids over at the condo. Fun day!!

Visiting the Jensons

Rick and I left around 10:00 a.m. and headed to Janika and Brandon's house. We were going up for Camden and Hannah's wedding in Salt Lake, but had an hour to stop and visit Janika and Brandon and play with Everett and snuggle Callan!! He is 6 weeks old now and just 7 pounds! That's how big Everett was when he was born!

Grandma's Little Peanut

This week was the usual interpreting and so forth. I went to a parent meeting for Madrigals for a Jazz Festival at Northern Arizona University in February. It kind of sounds like caroler type music! Janika, Brandon, and Everett came to visit this weekend, so that was fun! We went to Josh's soccer game Friday night, it was freezing! We got a quick bite to eat at Rumbi's on the way home. Saturday morning I had an interpreter workshop on Body Positivity. It was interesting. Josh had activities for Sadies all day long.

We got to play with Everett -- he had a cute little shirt on that said "Grandma's Little Peanut!" 😂 While Everett was napping Janika and Brandon and I took a tour of the traveling tabernacle. It was neat! Then I brought Jenna and Grace Christmas shopping. That night we watched Disenchanted (a sequel to Enchanted.) But Enchanted was WAY better and so this one was a disappointment. We had church today and then spent time with the family!

Heading Home

Janika and Brandon arrived home from Hawaii very late Friday night and stayed over at Brandon's parent's house. Saturday morning they picked up Evan from Ellen's parent's house in order to babysit him for the day. Ellen was finally released from the hospital today since her contractions hadn't started up again. Tomorrow she will be 32 weeks and then she will be able to go to the Riverton hospital which is closer to their home when she goes into labor again.

Josh and I played with Everett and Evan and then got ready to head back home. We picked up Jenna from the Westra's and drove the four hour drive home without incident -- although I was very tired! Rick would be arriving home from his cruise Sunday afternoon and I was looking forward to seeing him!

Weekend Fun!

Janika and Brandon had come down for the weekend since I had gotten them tickets to see Joseph at Tuacahn, but then Janika started feeling sick from dinner and so Jaiden and Jenna ended up going at the last minute instead. Jenna had already see it, but Jaiden hadn't seen it yet, and so it worked out. I felt bad that Janika and Brandon missed it though. The seats were on the third row!

Sunday Maddox was over and they took these cute pictures with Baby Everett!

Baby Everett

Janika and Brandon came to visit over Labor Day weekend. I didn't think to take any pictures of the visit, but then later on found all of these (and loads more) in my camera roll! The kids loved playing with baby Everett! And no wonder -- he is so dang cute!!

Everett's Baby Blessing

Busy weekend -- moving Jaiden into her apartment at SUU and Everett's baby blessing! We left around 10:00 on Saturday and headed to Cedar City with two cars (my car and Jase's car that was left at our house while they were in Maryland all summer) loaded with Jaiden's college stuff as well as our weekend bags. We moved her things in and then went out to lunch with Jaiden and Emily and took them grocery shopping before continuing on our way. (I will do a separate post about her move-in).

We all arrived in Pleasant Grove that night and had a nice family dinner prepared by Janika and Brandon. Jase and Ellen were there and so the babies were finally able to officially meet! Jared and Josh drove separately. Rick drove Jase's car to return to him and Jenna and Jaiden were with me. We ate yummy Hawaiian Haystacks at Janika and Brandon's and visited for a while and then I dropped Jenna and Jaiden off to Shane and Alicia's house so that they could attend their cousin, Rella's, 16th birthday party and then spend the night. Rick and I spent the night at Janika and Brandon's along with Jared and Josh.

Sunday morning was busy with getting ready and finishing up meal preparations. We all met at Janika and Brandon's ward where Brandon gave Everett a beautiful blessing. Afterwards we had a nice meal at the clubhouse of Heather (Brandon's sister) and Adam's townhouse complex. Janika and Brandon had fixed five delicious breakfast casseroles for a nice brunch, along with pancakes and fruit. Those in attendance were Brandon's parents and all of Brandon's siblings, Heather and Adam and their three kids, Carolyn, Andrew and Jess and their girls.  We also had Grandma and Grandpa Westra and Grandma Jensen and Gerilyn. My brother, Chris, came with his wife, Kim. Shane and Alicia came with Adria, Rella, and Calder. It was fun to visit with everyone and the food was delicious! We took some pictures afterwards (although some of the guests had left by then and most of Brandon's family was still inside, and so we didn't catch everyone!)

We all took naps and then Shane and Alicia met Rick and I at their new house (in the process of being built) so that they could give us a tour. Their house is AMAZING!!! We were out on one of the high balcony areas when the wind blew the wind shut and we were locked out with no way down! Thankfully Shane was able to call his neighbor who came in the front door and rescued us. Otherwise Shane would have been climbing down the scaffolding, ha ha! We are all excited for it to be finished to see how everything turns out!

Jared had driven home with Jaiden, Josh, and Jenna so that the boys could see her new apartment and so Rick and I had a nice drive with just the two of us!
