Strawberry Bisque Requires Patience to Eat! (Jaiden's Cruise)

Okay where do I even start?? This cruise was AMAZING!!! It was definitely the coolest senior trip ever!!!!! Basically, last Saturday (July 9) we left at like 4 am to drive to California so we could make it on time. It was a long drive, but we were all asleep most of the way. Oh yeah, also it was me, Emily, Lizzie, and dad who went. So, we got there, and we had to go through a whole process of stuff to get on the boat, but FINALLY we got there!! It was a HUGE boat!!! It had a sky ride, a ropes course, two waterslides, pools on every side, like it was massive!! Basically, at first, we just explored the ship. We got food and ice cream and found these crazy hand washing machines that are like mini washing machines for your hands, and they feel soooo weird, but I love them!!

After we explored and got lost a few times everyone went out on the main deck, and we did a bunch of line dances! Then they introduced the cruise director and the fun squad, and we had a party as we set sail!! It was tons of fun!! There was mini golf on the ship too so we did that and then we went down the water slide a few times!! Then we got ready for dinner and our server was LITERALLY the best his name is Gede and he's soooo awesome!! I felt so fancy and all the food was incredible!! So, now I have to explain the title.... basically, I got an appetizer that was strawberry bisque and it sounded interesting. When they brought it to me it was just a little circle of jello with three dots of sour cream on top and a mint leaf. I was like huh that's weird...isn't bisque soup?? So, I took a bite of the jello and then a second later out server poured in the soup and I was so embarrassed lol it was SOOO funny!!! That's why it takes patience haha. After dinner we snuck into the adult serenity lounge. We thought it was 18 and up but really it was 21 and up lol. Lizzie was the only one who got caught.  😂

After that we went around and explored some of the shops!! They had a ton on board, mostly jewelry and carnival merch shops, but they also had an adorable little candy store! That night we went to the welcome aboard showcase, and it was super fun! Then Emily and I went to the nightclub!! You had to be 18 to get in and everyone there was drunk, except for us, so we just had a dance party and went crazy and it was so much fun!!!!

On Sunday (July 10) we just hung out and took it easy! We went to the gym for a bit and did some yoga with Lizzie, and then we read scriptures in the serenity lounge, and then we got breakfast! Later in the day Emily and I did the sky ride, and it was super fun!! Then we hung out by the pool a bit and fell asleep lol. We got lots of ice cream and then we also got ready because it was formal night for dinner!! So we got in our formal dresses and ate fancy foods lol I got lobster and Crème Brûlée and it was soooo good!! The sunset was super pretty so after we ate, we went outside and took tons of pictures! Then we went to a show put on by their show cast and it was a ton of Broadway songs at it was fun! Some of the singers were crazy good and the dancing was awesome!

On Monday (July 11) we were still at sea for another day! It felt AMAZING outside so we were out by the pool and going on the water slides a whole ton! We also got Pina coladas and they were super delicious! (don’t worry they were alcohol free lol). Also the DJ on the boat was so so good!! Like he made remixes of the songs as they played and like faded them together it was so cool! Also, an ice carver came, and it was super awesome to watch! Later we did the ropes course, and it was really fun, but a little sketch cause it was windy up there 😅😂 and we were moving on a boat haha. At dinner I got escargot and it was actually super good! Like the texture wasn’t even bad. 😂Also the dining team did little show tunes at dinner and they would dance and we would go up and dance with them it was super fun! That night there was a MEGA DECK PARTY!!! It was basically just a huge dance party on the deck and Joey (our hilarious British cruise director who we are in love with) taught us a ton of super fun line dances, we LOVED it!! And we didn't care was anyone thought because we would never see them again so we just partied super hard!!! Then after that Emily and I went to the club at like midnight and it was a blast 😂we met this guy who goes to SUU, so that was awesome!

Tuesday (July 12) we got to Puerto Vallarta!!! It was super pretty and green!! We wandered around for a bit and then we went to our excursion!! Dude. This excursion was the BEST EVER!!! First they took us up the mountain and it literally took like 30 minutes we were up so high!!! Then it started with ziplining! We did a few zip lines and they were SO HIGH UP! Then we rappelled down, and then zip lined some more, and then rappelled again, and then zip lined, and then we did a zip line that went STRAIGHT INTO THE RIVER! It was so fun! And then we got to tube down the river, and then WE GOT TO RIDE HORSES BACK UP THE MOUNTAIN!! It was seriously such a party! Then we shopped a bit and then went back to the boat for dinner. Oh, we also went to the beach for a bit too lol.

Wednesday (July 13) we went to Mazatlán!! We did a whole photoshoot on the beach and it was tons of fun! Then we played "jump over the waves and try not to die" and it was awesome, I love that game!! Then we went back and shopped a ton!! I got a seashell anklet and a shark tooth necklace and also some little clay pigs for Josh and Jenna and also a shark tooth necklace for Maddox! It was fun and really pretty there! Also, me and Emily got coconuts! They were like the green cool ones it was fun and we drank the milk and then at them it was yummy! That night I tried alligator beignets and they were way good! After dinner we went to the gym and there was like no one there it was so awesome!! It's at the front of the boat and has tons of windows and the sunset was SOOO PRETTY!! After that there was an 80's party!! So basically another deck party and it was A BLAST!!! Some of the workers were all dressed up and it was awesome!! They gave us these light up foam stick things that we danced with and it was just such a party!!

(Note from Wendy: Rick did a whole photoshoot of the girls on the beach, but for some reason the camera settings were wrong and they all turned out white. I was able to edit some of them and included them in the collage above, but most of them were un-usable, which is really too bad, because they looked like they were really cute pictures! I really like this one though!)

Thursday (July 14) we went to Cabo San Lucas!! We did our excursion first, and it was kayaking and snorkeling!! The water there is sooo pretty and way clear!! Dad doesn't know how to kayak and he was my partner so that was pretty funny, haha! But the beaches were so pretty and some of the waves were HUGE!!!!!! Like crazy big! And snorkeling was SO AWESOME!!!!! There was an INSANE amount of fish all around us!! Like seriously I could reach out and touch one! Also Emily got stung by a baby jelly fish a few times so that was lovely lol. After that we went shopping and I got this super cute jumpsuit that has like embroidery on it and I LOVE IT!! And I bargained and everything, haha! We got back on the boat and took naps lol because we were so so tired.

We had another formal night for dinner, so we took pictures and ate, and then we went to another show!! It was called soul bound and it was kinda Halloween ish but it was like R&B music so it was super fun! After that they had the silent nights party!! Basically, they gave us all head phones, and there were three different settings. There were three different DJs, so each setting on the headphone was a different DJ. It was SO COOL! Because all you could hear was your own music and we partied so so hard!!! It was hilarious to take off the headphones and hear everyone singing at the top of their lungs! Some would be belting Justin Bieber while others were doing the Cupid shuffle! It was so awesome. After that we got some ice cream and then Lizzie went to bed and Emily and I stayed up just in the lobby hanging out. We saw this kid and he was pretty cute and he kept looking at Emily and it was super funny, and then later that night a super drunk guy came and sat down next to us and talked about how we should appreciate our parents and it was super funny! 😂

Friday (July 15) we did the sky ride and I was fun but super duper windy lol. we got mango daiquiris and they were super good (also alcohol free haha). we also played hearts with dad and for the record I won. 😂 We went to the sauna cause it was cold outside and it felt so nice in there haha! Then we hung
out outside and we were looking for that kid from the night before. he was from new Zealand and Emily was like dang I should have asked for his name! and I said his name was probably Charlie so we called him Charlie it was funny he would always look at Emily whenever we saw him it was hilarious. and then we did karaoke and sang Mamma Mia!! It was way way fun!! Then we had dinner, and after that we took more pictures! Then we went to another show called celestial strings, and there wasn't much of a storyline, but I loved the dancing!! Ffter that we were going to go to the club, but then Charlie finally came and talked to us!!! Turns out his name was actually Brooklyn haha. So we talked to him probably til around 3:30 in the morning!! He was super funny! And he had an accent so it was even more funny! The next day we just ate breakfast and left! I was so sad to leave because the trip was such a party!!!!!! But we had to go :(

But here are 10 things I learned on this cruise lol:

1. strawberry bisque: don't eat the little jello with sour cream on top....because then you will look like an idiot when they pour in the actual soup

2. learning line dances from a British guy is 10 times better because of the accent

3. tik tok by ke$ha hits different when you are the only sober people dancing at the night club

4. it's pretty easy to sneak into the 21 and older adult serenity resort

5.  funfetti cheesecake >>>>>>

6. if you think you have good balance try doing a ropes course on a boat in the wind

7. if you go ziplinging/tubing in the mountains of Puerto Vallarta...wear bug spray

8. Mazatlan taxis = mini golf carts

9. hand washing machines should exist everywhere

10. don't try to kiss the little crawdad lobster thingies they put on your plate for decoration

^^^this last one is because it's arm fell down while I was about to kiss and they were like IT MOVED ITS ALIVE and it gave me a heart attack 😂 The cruise was such a blast!! 27 out of 10 would definitely recommend.

Josh got a Perm!

Josh decided to get a perm and we really liked it! We liked his subsequent perms even better because the curls were tighter. He decided to keep the style! (He just got this and other perms done at Evan's Hair School.) The cost was about $35.00. The time -- 3 hours!! Yikes!

Next perm, two months later...

Covid -- again!!

Saturday morning Jenna came downstairs wearing a mask. I said, "Why are you wearing a mask? Are you sick?" She said she just had a little stuffy nose and was just wearing it to be "safe." I knew immediately that she had Covid. I gave her one of our home tests and sure enough -- it was positive! Her friend's dad had come home from a trip with Covid, but he was isolating in a separate room of their house and so they felt fine still having friends over. I wish now that I hadn't let her go over, because a few days later she got it. Of course we don't know for sure if that is where she got it, but it is most likely. Well a couple of days later I started feeling sick and also took a home test, which was also positive.

Jenna just had a stuffy nose and a couple of evenings she complained of a headache and chills, but that was about it. I got it a lot worse. I had a myriad of symptoms -- sore throat, headache, chills, fatigue, runny nose, and cough (different symptoms on different days). I haven't felt that sick for a long time and was relieved when I finally got over it, after about a week. Jenna isolated for six days and then all of her friends were out of town and so she was home for a couple more days after that. I isolated for a week and was "mostly" home for a few days after that. I didn't really feel like doing much, so it was pretty much a wasted week. I just rested and watched some movies and things like that.

Jaiden got home from FSY the same day that Jenna tested positive. We weren't sure what to do because we didn't want to expose Jaiden to Covid, especially with her leaving on a cruise in a week. We told her to go sleep in the basement studio for the week and try to stay away from Jenna (and later me). Josh thought for sure he would get it (and having a week off of work really appealed to him, ha ha) and so he took a test every morning before work for four days. But each one was negative and he never did end up getting it. He was overwhelmed with a new job -- working 8 hours a day at Wendy's and on some of the days he also worked another 4 hours at Tuacahn. So 12 hour days! Because of this he was very busy and pretty much gone all of the time (which was probably good!)

Jared FINALLY had a week off from FSY and we felt bad that we couldn't have him over and visit with him about his adventures from the past five weeks. Rick arrived home Thursday night from his FSY trip in Florida and Jared picked him up from the airport. He been gone since Saturday and then would leave again on Saturday and so we were only going to have one one day and two nights together before he was going to leave on the week long cruise with Jaiden and her friends for their Senior trip. But now he couldn't even be around me since I had Covid and he couldn't risk getting it right before their cruise. So he slept in the basement too. That was a major bummer that we couldn't even be together during that short little break between trips! 😭

Both Rick and Jaiden were required to take a Covid test a day or two before their cruise. Rick just went through this process for his last two cruises that he was interpreting on. He said that he took the test at Walgreens and that it was free. Well, the government just barely changed the testing so that now if you  are taking the test for only for travel reasons (as compared to having symptoms or being exposed) then you have to pay $128.00!!  What the?? There is no way that we were going to pay $128.00 for a stupid Covid test! Well, they don't accept the home tests and we did some research and learned that Carnival Cruise Lines will accept this certain brand of mail-order test along with an online medical visit where they basically watch you take the test and then send you a verification email with the result. So we ordered four of those to split between their group.

Later we decided to go back and try Walgreens again and fill out the questionnaire a little differently. For Jaiden's questionnaire when it asked "are you experiencing any of the following symptoms," she put "no," but on the question, "Have you been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of Covid," she put "yes." The first time Rick put down "no" because he hadn't at the time. But since he now had family members who had it then he put down "yes" and so because of that one question answered differently the test was now free!!! Crazy, right?

Anyway, now we have to try and return the mail order tests. The website said "no returns" but Rick brought the box back to UPS unopened and hopefully they will have to take it back, because we had ordered four tests and it came to about $140.00 with expedited shipping. So hopefully we don't get stuck with that cost. The testing at Walgreens was stressful too. Ages 3-18 were supposed to have a parent or guardian with them. Rick was out of town and I had Covid, and so I called Jared and asked if he could meet Jaiden at Walgreens for the test. When it was their turn in the drive-through they turned them away because Rick had accidentally put the wrong birth year on her application. So it was a wasted trip.

I hurried and grabbed the last appointment, which was for later than afternoon. Again I had Jared meet Jaiden there. This time they almost turned them away AGAIN because they didn't have our insurance card. All of the instructions for the test had gone to Jaiden's email and so I didn't realize that they were supposed to have their card with them. I took a picture of the card and texted it to Jared. They ended up accepting that, but made them go to the back of the drive through line. By this time Rick had arrived at the airport, but it took so long at Walgreens that Jared was really late picking him up. Well, Jaiden and Jared finally made it through the line and Jaiden took the test and we got the results about three hours later and thankfully it was negative!

Anyway, I have been SOOO stressed that Jaiden or Rick would get Covid and that they would have to cancel their trip. I prayed over and over that it would all work out and that if it was God's will, they would be able to test negative and not get Covid. Well, it DID all work out! Both their tests were negative and thankfully nobody in their group got sick. They were able to go on their trip and have a wonderful time! I am SO grateful for tender mercies!

When we were going through all of the stress of getting the Covid tests and everything I wondered, "Is this really worth traveling to go through all of this hassle?" But once they got to California and got safely on the ship, they were able to really have a full week of great food, fun, and lots of new experiences. So, I would have to say even with all of the stress right before the trip, it definitely ended up being worth it!!

Fourth of July

The Fourth of July was kind of the pits this year. Jenna tested positive for Covid the Saturday before and so she was in isolation and then I tested positive on the Fourth of July and so I was in isolation also. We were supposed to have a BBQ with the Williams and then watch fireworks with them later that night, but we had to miss that. Jenna had a pretty good attitude though. She got dressed up and painted her whole body with red, white, and blue paint and did a few sparklers and then went on the roof of our garage to watch the fireworks that were going off around the neighborhood. I didn't do too much -- just hung around the house and watched the newish movie, West Side Story." Josh worked at Wendy's during the day and then did something with friends in the evening. Jaiden went over to the Williams in the evening to watch them do their fireworks.

Rick was in Florida to prepare for teaching FSY (For the Strength of Youth) on Tuesday and Wednesday. He went up a few days early so that he could meet with the Bishop of the Deaf Branch and his wife on Saturday and then attend the Deaf Branch on Sunday. He also was able to meet with the principal of the School for the Deaf in St. Augustine, who gave him a tour of the school. Rick was able to talk with them about the resources that were available for those students who were interested in attending seminary. He was also able to meet with several of the youth who had gone to FSDY (For the Strength of Deaf Youth) and interview them about their experience. He said that he received a very warm welcome and was glad that he could make those connections.

Janika and Brandon spent the holiday at home with Everett, who wasn't feeling well, and Jared was at FSY at Snow College in Ephraim. Jase and Ellen were able to spend some time with Ellen's parents who had flown out to Maryland that weekend. They all went to New York and Jase and Ellen and Ellen's mom, Suzanne, went to go see the Broadway show Wicked, while Ellen's Dad, Dean, watched Evan. They were able to celebrate Evan's first birthday and so see the sites while they were in town.

How Far Away is That Plane? 3 Days!!!

I actually meant to post this letter in Janelle's missionary blog, not our Jensen Journal Blog, but maybe I will keep it here too since I haven't included a lot of updates for her on our family blog. For all her updates go to: SisterJanelleJensen.blogspot.com

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep that's right!!! Guess who got her flight plans to go to Taiwan.....THIS ONE!!! 🙌🥳

I'm leaving Thursday! I don't want to get my hopes up too much until I'm actually on the plane, but big big changes!!!

That's the big one, but we had some other great things this week too! The days have been getting progressively busier and today we were running all around preparing for transfers and Taiwan (except everywhere is closed cause of the 4th of July...Happy 4th of July by the way!). I got a message from president saying it would be this week or next week and then I got my flight plans on Saturday. Good stuff! I'm just trying to stay somewhat focused for now haha.

Anyway, we had some good lessons with our friend Amanda! She is super solid, already in Alma in the Book of Mormon, but she does have to make some really difficult life changes so please pray for her! She was able to receive a priesthood blessing yesterday so hopefully that helped.

We also ended up having a drop lesson with one of our friends who has been taught everything but isn't ready to make the commitment of baptism. But he watched church yesterday, so it'll happen!

Another miracle is that we got a referral from other sisters for this guy named Jairus, and he came to church and shared his testimony! We were a little concerned when he started going up but it was so good! We're super excited about him! Seriously this work is the greatest thing ever. We were also able to meet with our friend Chris and let me tell you there is something so irreplaceable about teaching someone to pray, and them hearing them do it correctly on a later lesson. It is just so special to experience this and just watch conversion happen.

Spiritual thought for the week: Of all the miracles that God has and can perform, the greatest one is a "mighty change of heart." Why? Why is it the greatest miracle? Why is so necessary? Study it and find out! We are on earth to learn to follow God's ways and become His trusted heirs. To do this, a "mighty change of heart" is crucial. We must not only obey His commandments to obey Him, but because they are engrained in our hearts. A mighty change of heart is a process. It really takes a lifetime. But we can all do it, through the Savior Jesus Christ. Experience the miracle of a mighty change of heart in your own life!

Other fun things: one of our ward members gave me a whole bunch of candy to give to kids in Taiwan :) precious! We ate at a bar; it was really good haha. The Elders gave me a weird rice pancake that had a texture like taffy and was very difficult to eat haha.

Jaiden: FSY

This week was the BEST. WEEK. EVER!!!!!!!!! I HAD FSY!!! my company was the BEST!!! we were all so close and unified and involved and super hype and we all participated and had an absolute blast!!! so it started on Monday! Emily and I drove down to Vegas and got checked in and stuff!! we walked down the hall and the first thing we noticed was that there was name tags on all the doors of who was in what room, and we looked at all the rooms and one was macey....hmm we wondered......could it be?? YES IT COULD! macey mehr was in our company!!! so first we met our counselor, her name is Andreya and she was super nice and funny!! we met all the girls and they seemed super fun! then we went to go meet the guys....the first thing Emily said when she was them was...."well I hope they have good personalities....." HAHAHA but we spoke too soon cause by the end of the week I would marry any of those guys right now😂also our guy counselors name is Josh and he is the best and so funny in the most awkward way and all the girls were in love with him 😂and our company's name was built on the rock!! so we played some get to know you games and it seemed like the guys were nice and pretty outgoing! we went to orientation and we got so so hype!! then I think we got dinner and it was super fun cause there was an ice cream machine in the cafeteria so we loved that especially because it was SO hot outside haha! after dinner we had our home evening devotional and it was super good!! it was about remembering who you are and who you are meant to become. then we did fhe games and it was soooo fun our company is hilarious 😂after that we did goal setting and it made me super excited for the week!! everyone in our company seemed super involved and wanted to participate which was great! after that we did reflect and review and then went to bed. it was super duper hot outside but we woke up FREEEEEZING every morning cause the ac was on full blast 😂on the second day Emily and I did our devotional and then we went to breakfast! after that we did gospel study and then went to our morning devotional. it was about how we are all divine and it was really good!  we had to walk everywhere, and my company couldn't do a counselor sandwich to save their lives 😂😂but it's cause we all like to talk!! so we would all go by different people an try to get to know them! it was super cool. after that we went to classes and the first too classes all the teachers taught the same lessons. the first was hear him and the second was finding answers to questions, and they were both super good! after that we had lunch and it was fun and then went to more classes! the first one I went to was about how we can be a friend like Christ and I really liked it!! the second class I went to was about how we can defend ourselves against Satan's tactics. it was really cool because at the end of the lesson the teacher said that he felt impressed to say that if God were standing in front of us right then, he would say that he's proud of us. I thought that was SUPER cool because just that morning at gospel study I read the talk "worthiness is not flawlessness" (super good talk by the way) and it was really cool cause I am a perfectionist so sometimes it is hard for me to feel worthy but in that talk it basically said as long as you are trying your hardest with your best intentions at heart then that's all that matters, and then the teacher basically said God was proud of me for being willing to try! so that was super cool.

after that it was free time and Emily and I took a nap haha. then it was dinner! then after that, we met with our company and planned our cheer and made our banner!!! DUDE. our banner was INCREDIBLE!!! I will have to attach a picture cause it was SOOO cool! and our cheer was amazing too!! we wrote a rap and it was so hype! after that we had a dance!! woohoo! when we first got there it was a little awkward cause the songs were kinda weird and no one new them but then we got SO HYPE!!! I danced every slow song and it was super super fun! Josh was sooo funny to watch dance cause he was ALL OVER THE PLACE and just going SO hard and he was literally dripping sweat everywhere *hence the title of the email lol* it was so so funny

after the dance we did R&R and then went to bed. Wednesday was SO FUN! so first we had our devotional and then did breakfast and we made fun of Josh cause he was drinking skim milk and then was like taste testing all the milk then after that we had gospel study and then the morning devotional! it was about trusting in the lord and how to keep him at the center of your life! then we had classes. the first class I went to was called and he shall be like a tree and it was really good and then the second one was called choose the right thought. I really liked it because it talked about how we can control what happens with the thoughts in our heads and how we can keep Satan out of our heads. another cool experience was that this teacher also said that she felt impressed to say that you will never regret going on a mission! and you won't believe what I studied at gospel study my missionary work tag, cause I was trying to see if I wanted to go on a mission so that was cool.

then it was lunch time, and after that we had more classes. the first one I went to was called your most epic adventure and I really liked it because he talked about how we are all the heroes in our story and how we can live our lives in a way that will lead us to our happily ever after. the next class I went to was about the second coming and it was REALLY good! he focused a lot about the plan of salvation too and it was super good! then it was free time! Emily and I decided to try out for the variety show! so we sang lost in the woods from frozen 2 and it went well and was really funny then after free time we had dinner and just partied with the company!! then we went to go get ready for games night!! I was a little nervous because games night isn't my favorite...but it ended up being the BEST!!! my company was SO SO HYPE!! we basically won all the games, and our cheer and banner were absolute fire! 💪 then we had pizza night and it was an absolute blast!! then something crazy happened!! it was quiet time and we were all getting ready for bed...then all the sudden on our company group me our counselor asked if we wanted to go downstairs and dance! like what ?!?!? it turns out, some of the boys in our company knew like latin and mexican kinds of partner dancing, so one of the guys was teaching all the other guys, and then they got special permission to let us go dance with them! so they taught us all how to do the dances and it was SO. MUCH. FUN. literally peak of my life right there 😂it was just such a blast! after that we had R&R and went to bed. the next day was the spiritual day, and it was super cool! we started off like normal, and then after our gospel study, we split up into boys and girls. the girls were to go to do the young women activity while the boys did the young men's devotional. the activity was about Joseph Smith and it was super cool! it helped me to realize that he was just a normal person like you and me and he just did his best and let God do the rest. after that we switched with the boys and had our young women's devotional!! it was taught by our session director’s wife, and she did a really good job!! it was about the divine nature of women and our role in the church, and we also talked about the new young women's theme which was really cool. after that we had lunch and then Emily and I had a variety show rehearsal! then we had the show!! it started off with Josh and another counselor named Jace singing the song dust from the youth album and it was SOOOO funny cause they went full rock mode and wore chains and sunglasses and went out into the audience and we all fan girled SO hard 😂😂then the rest of the show started and it was fun, some of the people were SO GOOD!! and there was 5 people from my company in it!  way to represent 🔥me and Emily’s song went well!! it was really funny and the audience loved it haha. after that it was free time, and the musical program was having a dress rehearsal! SO WHY NOT JOIN THE MUSICAL PROGRAM RIGHT THEN?! that is exactly what we did 😂and two boys from my company had solos and they did AMAZING!! there were 7 people from my company in the musical program too!! we are so cool! so we had dinner and then the musical program, and then the evening devotional, and it was about the atonement and forgiveness it was really good! at the end he had us like write a letter to the savior in our journal and it was super cool and then we sang the fsy medley and I love that song 😭after that we had our testimony meeting and it was really really good!! almost everyone from my company shared their testimony!! after that we did R&R and went to bed. Friday started out with our devotional and then breakfast and gospel study! then we did a review of our goals and honestly as a group we killed it!!!! we were so involved and got to know everyone and like it was just the best. after that we had our morning devotional, and it was about how we need to trust in the lord because he will take us into the unknown but we still need to follow him so he can direct our paths. after that we did the sharing the gospel activities!!! first we did some activities on family search to get to know our ancestors, and then we did some things to share the gospel today, like texting friends a scripture or writing a letter and things like that! it was really fun!! then we had lunch and i sat with the funnest group of people we were laughing the WHOLE time literally my company was the best. after that we had the taking it home showcase!!!! our company was SO HYPE and we cheered the whole time!! and our cheer won so we got to perform it for the whole session💪 after that we talked about how we can share goodness through social media! then we had free time and my company basically just hungout in the dorm lobby and blasted music and sang and danced!! then we packed, and then we got ANOTHER TEXT ASKING TO GO DANCE!! basically, the counselors saw us dancing the first time and wanted us to teach other people at the dance! so we basically did a flash mob!! so during free time we practiced the dance and my partner was a guy in my company named Everett, he's super cool! anyway, after we practiced most people went to dinner but a couple groups of us stayed there and learned SWING DANCING!! me and Everett were pros haha it was so so fun! then we had dinner and went and took a ton of pictures with our company!! we are models it was a super fun time. THEN WE HAD THE DANCE!!!! it was so so so fun I swear it felt like it was only 20 minutes long it went by so fast 😂but it was a blast and our flash mob went well too!! after the dance we had our taking it home message from our session director and it was about how we can take what we learned here and use to understand who we really are and why we are on this earth. then we all sang the fsy medley and I cried it was so so good! and then we went with our company to do our company taking it home. we made goals of how we can remember everything we felt and learned and then we had to say our goodbyes. it was SO SO SO SAD 😭😭I was like bawling I really did not want to leave. they are all my best friends 🥺 it was so sad to leave and then we all texted the group chat for a super long time haha. and then we decided to get up super early and meet at 6 am so we could hangout and play games before we all had to leave!! it was so much fun lol. it was sad to leave but we already have a reunion planned for the 18th so that's really soon! and we have all been texting each other it's so awesome 😂
