Visiting Grandma Jensen and Graduation Doll

Happy 3 year anniversary to Janika and Brandon today!! Brandon made a really cute video with the songs that he and Janika recorded at our house to the song "A Million Dreams," and put it together with pictures of the two of them through the years. It was really sweet! 

Today we headed to Grandma Jensen's for the day. It was good to see her and we were glad to see that she is recovering well from her fall -- although her wrist will still take a while to heal completely. We showed her the girls' dance videos and played a fun game with Gerilyn that is similar to Kahoot. Jenna had fun playing with Jhi and the Jaiden and Janelle painted their graduation dolls. Grandma has a tradition where she gives all of the grandkids this cute little doll painted with their graduation colors when they graduate from high school. 

Grandma said that she can't paint well now that she is older and asked the girls if they would want to paint their own. That is more fun anyway! Janelle's is almost finished and looks so cute! She will have to finish it next time she is in Ogden. Jaiden painted hers also even though she doesn't graduated until next year. She isn't finished with her yet. Grandma prepared us all a delicious dinner and we visited with Rick when he got back from his appointments and then we headed back to Grandma and Grandpa Westra's house to stay the night. 

Grandma Jensen's Fall

Grandma Jensen had an accident this week (on Wednesday, March 3). She was on a walk and tripped on the sidewalk, crashing down face first. She was bleeding profusely and broke bones on both sides of her nose. She also broke her hand and one of her ribs and suffered from a concussion. Her kids brought her to the clinic who sent them on to the hospital. They kept her overnight. She is back home now and seems to be healing well, but I imagine she is in a lot of pain. After the swelling goes down they will decide if she needs surgery on her nose or not. It has been a scary ordeal! We are praying that she recovers quickly! Jenna wrote her this sweet note and made her a pop-up tissue box out of construction paper. We mailed them to her along with get well cards from the other kids, so hopefully she got them! 

Visit from Grandma

Grandma Jensen came down with Julie (and Haulee and Shane's family -- and their neighbors) so that Shane could do the Iron Man. The Iron Man was actually cancelled this year due to Covid, but Shane still did the entire race by himself!! Now that is some crazy dedication!! Meanwhile Grandma came over to visit. Grandma played some games of Uno and Skipbo with Jenna, and then the girls and I met them at the house they were staying at to go swimming. The kids had a ball!
