New Lunch Group!!

Last year Jenna was in a lunch group called "Lunch Bunch," with her group of friends. One of the moms headed it up and sent out a signup sheet through "SignUp Genius," for all of the moms to sign up. It worked out great! I really liked it because then I knew that Jenna was getting a good meal for lunch. When she didn't have a place to go she often skipped lunch (which is definitely NOT healthy) or went out to eat with friends, which wasted a lot of money. So the lunch bunch was really helpful for her and her friends to socialize and also have a great home-cooked meal ready for them. 

Well, by the end up the year, Jenna wasn't hanging out as much with that friend group, and during the summer she started hanging out more and more with Ethan and his friend group, and other childhood friends from the neighborhood. I really wanted her to continue with the lunch group, but thought it would be better if we started our own group with this new group of friends. We contacted Clarissa and Anna to see if they wanted to switch over as well. So today was the first day -- at our house with Hawaiian Haystacks! This group went strong all year! Such a great group of friends!!

Back to School!!

Back to School and things are busy as ever!! Last night Rick gave Jenna a Father's blessing as he does every year with our children when they start school. Jenna is a Junior this year. She is in Madrigals and is taking four concurrent enrollment college classes, an AP class, and another honors class. Plus she is working TWO jobs! Busy girl! This picture was taken early in the morning since she had to leave at 6:30 a.m. for Madrigals on the first day of school! 

I am super busy also! Interpreting is often slow in the summer, but as soon as school starts then BAM!!! There are SO MANY job requests!! I love the variety that comes with interpreting! So fun! 

Cruise

 Got in a quick work cruise before school starts next week!! 

Jenna, Camping

Jenna and Clarissa went camping at Navajo Lake with Cortnie Kendrick and her mom for Cortnie's birthday party. They had a great time! 

Newsies!!

I had gotten Janika and Brandon tickets to see Newsies at Tuacahn tonight since they were in town this weekend. Then I found out that Shane and Alicia's family would be coming on Saturday and Sunday as well and so we all went! The Westras had gone to see "the Importance of Being Earnest," at the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City and stayed overnight there. They arrived in the afternoon and everyone went swimming (except for me, I took a little nap). 

Then we had a great dinner -- barbequed marinated chicken, potato salad (made by Jenna), and fruits and vegies. Yum! Jenna had already planned on taking Ethan out tonight and so she brought him to Benja's and then to the show at Tuacahn. She gets four complimentary tickets to each show because she works at Tuacahn and had been wanting to bring Ethan for a while now. I had been able to get tickets since I interpret at Tuacahn. 

We had AWESOME seats for the show! Just a few rows from the stage, in the middle. (This picture is taken from the top of the theater). It was a little hot, but still fun and the cast did a great job!
