Mari's Wedding

Rick and I had the opportunity of attending our good friend, Mari Reeder's wedding today and were honored that she asked us to sign a musical number for it!  Here is a picture of all of the interpreters from our area who came!

Happy Birthday!

Jaiden and Jenna made me these little plates for my birthday.  Cute girls!

Today was my birthday and it was a good day.  Rick and I went out to eat at Pizza Pie Café.  I wanted to go there since they have gluten free pizza and pasta and so it is a special treat for me!  We then went to see the movie, Saturday’s Warrior.  The play, Saturday’s Warrior, was a big part of my growing up years – my sister and I would play the piano and sing all of the songs and we had them all memorized.  Later on I jokingly blamed Saturday’s Warrior for getting married late.  I was searching for the one and only pre-destined soul mate, where we would meet and break into song, “I’ve seen that smile before – I’ve heard that voice before – It seems we’ve talked like this before…”  Instead, Rick and I met on a blind date thinking we might recognize each other since we were at USU at the same time and knew many of the same people.  For our first date he knocked on my door and I answered.  He said,  "I don’t recognize you…”  and I said “I don’t recognize you either…”  (Not exactly Saturday's Warrior material -- haha! ) But now Rick is convinced that a big part of my mission here on earth was to meet and marry him!  :)

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and went through every one of my tissues!!  I even caught Rick wiping away a few tears.  The did make some changes to the movie – leaving out a couple of songs (which made me sad) and adding a couple of fun songs.  The musical talent was great – however, it was obvious that they had pre-recorded all of the songs in a studio and so every time they broke into song it just looked like actors were lip syncing, like in a music video. So that was distracting, but overall I have to say that I loved it.  I found the old movie – filmed on the stage in 1989 and watched it with my girls on Sunday.  Jenna was so worried about little Emily and whether she was going to make it to earth and whether Jimmy was going to keep his promise.  She was practically in tears when the mom miscarriages and she has to go back to heaven.  I think she relates since she is the youngest one in our family and we (or at least I) thought we were finished having kids after Josh was born. When Josh was a baby, Rick went on a church history trip and while on that trip he called me and said he didn't think Josh was our last baby.  What?!!  I didn’t want to pray about it because I didn’t want to go through another pregnancy – but eventually I did and received the same prompting Rick had and now we can't imagine our family without our spunky little girl!

Jared's Track Meet

I buzzed over to DHS just in time to see Jared run his 400.  He got his PR at 55.59 and his 200 was 25.2.  His 800 time the next day was 2.12.

He was in a fast heat and said, "Why can't you take a picture when I am in first place?"  But I still like the picture below because it has the temple in the background!!
