Jase and Emily off to Senior Ball!

Well, Jase had his first date tonight!!  He took Emily Bryan to Senior Ball. They are really good friends and run track and cross country together and so the date was natural and fun.  When I was a sophomore in high school, Senior Prom was my first date too (with Glen Seegrist, who I ran track and cross country with)!  Jase and Emily doubled with their friends, Jed McArthur and Alissa Van Valkenburg.  They had a nice dinner of chicken fettuccine over at Jed's house, went to the dance, and then came back to our house to watch a little Netflix and eat dessert.  Rick took the darling pictures below!

Arbor Day Festival

It rained last night and was still quite wet but the kids were still able to enjoy flying their free kites at the Arbor Day Festival at Gubler Park today!

Janika and Mitch -- Senior Ball

Janika and Mitch Seely off to Senior Ball!  (Mitch's mom made Janika's fun unique corsage and helped Janika make Mitch's boutineer.)  They went with a big fun group (we will get those pictures later!)  They played games at Jeff Rosenburg's house during the day and later took pictures at the Brigham Young Home and then went to dinner at the Pizza Factory.  The went to the dance at the Bell Tower and then went to Mitch's house afterwards to watch "The Lion King."  Fun times!

Jaiden's Dance Recital

Jaiden's Trio Dance Recital was tonight at the Eccles Auditorium at Dixie University.   I enjoyed the show, but it was loooong -- two and a half hours!  I think it would have been better if they had split it up into two separate nights for an hour and 15 minutes each night, with all of the younger classes on one night and the older classes and groups on another night.  But I can understand that renting out the Eccles was probably really expensive and thus more cost effective for them to have it in one night. Both of Jaiden's numbers were clear after the intermission.

Rick and I drove separately so that he could take pictures of Janika and Jase with their Senior Prom dates tonight.  I am glad he did -- the pictures turned out SO cute!  I texted Rick and asked him if he could pick up some flowers for Jaiden.  He did and I was glad -- Jaiden was delighted!  I wish I had thought to get her picture with them.

Rick came late and ended up going out into the lobby most of the time to study for his NIC Interpreter Written Test.  He came in to see Jaiden's songs, of course.  Jaiden is only in one class (Hip Hop/Jazz 2) and so she was only in two numbers.  She is the shortest (and I assume youngest) one in her class, but she kept right up with everyone else.  She did a great job!

Happy Easter!!

The four youngest woke up early and couldn't wait to get to their Easter Baskets.  The oldest three opted to sleep through it.  They had already seen their baskets late last night before they went to bed.  The kids got snack foods and their own reading head lights.  Janika and I curled all of the girls' hair for church and Rick gave a nice Easter lesson and showed us some touching videos about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I didn't get any Easter pictures of the kids before church because we were running late for choir practice.  Rick, Janika, Janelle, and Jaiden and I are in our ward choir and we sang two songs for Sacrament Meeting.  After church we had a nice Easter dinner of ham, potato salad, green salad, jello salad, vegetables, rolls, and ice-cream.  We invited our friends, Liz and Dave Perkins, over to enjoy dinner with us!
