Senior Ball Promposals!!

Josh Larkin asked Jaiden to Senior Ball with this cute poster featuring her favorite show: Phineas and Ferb. It says "Ferb, I know what we are going to do today!" Then Ferb is crossed out and "Josh" is written in little letters. "Today" is crossed out with "May 1, 2021" written underneath it and then it says "Senior Ball with me? Josh"

Jaiden was happy! She answered him with the theme song from Phineas and Ferb but added "On May 1st I could be... (and then the theme song from Phineas and Ferb) and then wrote, "But I'd rather go to Senior Ball with you! YES!"

Now for Janelle....a couple of weeks ago (April 16th) Janelle got nominated to be on the Senior Ball royalty! She was walking to class when a member of the Senior Council hit her (gently) in the face with whipping cream with the announcement, "You are on Senior Ball Royalty!!" I don't know why they do the announcements with silly things like that, but they do! They let her go home for a bit to try and wash it out. Anyway, she was thrilled!! The only hiccup was she didn't have a date! However, that problem resolved itself when she was asked a week or so later.

In fact she almost got asked two more times! She accidentally overheard (from a reliable source) that a certain person was going to ask her. So she was expecting it. But when she was asked it was from someone else! She was fine with that though since he is a friend of hers (Carsyn Richins) and she was excited! Then the next day Jaiden received a text from another friend saying that her cousin was planning to ask Janelle. But Jaiden told her that Janelle had already been asked! She Janelle felt pretty good knowing that a couple different guys wanted to ask her!

Senior Ball Answer -- Janelle

Janelle answered her date for Senior Ball! It is not looking like Senior Ball will happen, but I think they will go out on a date instead, if some of the social distancing measures are lifted by then.

Earthquake!!

There was totally an earthquake today! I was lying in bed upstairs at my parent's house a little after 7:00 a.m. when the bed suddenly started shaking! I thought, "Oh my gosh, we are having an earthquake!" This is the strongest earthquake I have ever felt. My mom and dad and Josh all felt it too. My mom turned on the news. This is what was reported later:

A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Magna, Utah, on Wednesday morning, knocking out power for tens of thousands of people in the largest earthquake the state has felt since 1992, the authorities said.

The earthquake struck the area at about 7 a.m. local time, with a preliminary measurement of 5.7, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. There were no reports of serious injuries in Salt Lake City, the police said, but Rocky Mountain Power, a major provider in the region, said that about 55,000 customers in the area had their power knocked out.

For miles around Utah’s capital, china rattled in cabinets, pictures plummeted off walls and power snapped out. At the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the tremors were so intense that the trumpet of the angel Moroni fell from the temple’s highest point. Many residents, staying indoors because of measures to stem the coronavirus outbreak around the country, suddenly faced a new hazard — anything that might fall on them in their homes.

Josh was pretty excited that he actually got to feel an earthquake! After Josh and I got all of our things put together and packed up we headed to Lindon to pick up all of the girls. We had a quick lunch with them and the girls showed me a funny movie trailer that they made about the Corona Virus. I really got a kick out of it! Click HERE to see their creative work!

We headed for home. Jaiden drove part of the way starting in Fillmore. I was going to have her drive to Beaver but after she had been driving a while it started raining and even snowing! So I switched places with her. It snowed pretty hard for a little while but was fine once we got closer to home!

We got home and started unpacking and cleaning up. Rick got home a little after we did (from Vegas). He had worked in Vegas Monday through Wednesday. He has been doing this online interpreter training to prepare for the National Interpreting Test and was scheduled to take the test this week in Vegas, but it cancelled. So he will have to take it later.

Tonight our family watched Frozen 2 in the basement. I was excited to FINALLY see it!  All of the kids had already seen it, but Rick and I hadn't. We enjoyed it!

Janelle got asked to Senior Prom (if they even still have Prom), which is supposed to be the end of April. It was cute. He gave her a poster with an Aloe plant and some antibacterial soap that said "Aloe me to take you out before the Corona Virus does..." or something to that effect. Then it said, "Senior Ball?" and had a roll of toilet paper.
