Mary Poppins Closing Night!!

It is bitter-sweet to see this show come to an end! When I went to greet the kids after the show Jenna was crying. That is why her eyes are a little puffy in her pictures! It reminded me of closing night of The Sound of Music when Janelle played the part of Brigetta. She, and the girl who played Louisa, were pretty much sobbing as the audience filed through the line to greet the characters after the show.

By the time Jenna got home tonight she was pretty much bawling too! She kept saying how much she was going to miss everyone and how much she was going to miss rehearsals and performing in the show! She thanked me again and again throughout the week for the opportunity she had to do this show!

All in all I have to say that having my girls be a part of this show was a great decision! It was a ton of work for them -- and a lot of sacrifice for me! Jaiden and Janelle just stayed after school and Janelle was usually able to bring them home, but with Jenna I often had to turn down interpreting jobs in order to be available to check her out of school everyday and bring her over to the high school to rehearsal. But watching her perform this week definitely made it all worth it!

Several cast members were passing out little notes and cards to each other and Cameron Hugunin's mom gave every one gift cards to Dairy Queen and had these darling balloon creations made for the performers! SO cute!!
