Mother's Day Tea

We had a such a fun Mother's Day Tea! It is such a silly, ridiculous tradition, but I think we laugh more during Mother's Day Tea than any other holiday of the year. Rick was a pioneer with an English accent, I was a baton twirler, Janika was Glinda the good witch (and Jenna was Elphaba, the bad witch), Jase was a surfer boy, Janelle was a puppet, Jaiden was the genie from Aladdin, and Josh was Cupid. Jaiden and Janelle were hilarious. Janelle had a non-speaking character (like last year when she was from a silent movie). Jaiden and Janelle did a ventriloquist act with Jaiden speaking for Janelle. Janelle just moved her mouth up and down while Jaiden talked in a high "puppet" voice. I was going to try and explain them here but it would be better to just go and watch the videos!

And of course Jaiden always likes to get her own private photo shoot....

Dress Up!!

Jenna and her friends love to dress up! Today they were rock stars! 

Human Hungry Hippos

Tonight we (the Beehives) were in charge of the combined YW/YM activity. We decided to play “Human Hungry Hippos.” That is where you divide the group up into four teams – each one in a corner of the gym -- and give each of them a recreational PE scooter or skateboard and a laundry basket. Then one team members lies on their stomach on the scooter and one person pushes their legs (wheelbarrow race style) into the center where there are lots of balls and balloons and the one on the scooter tried to trap as many balls as they can with the laundry basket and then their partner pulls them back. They have several rounds and count up their balls each round. It went well and everyone seemed to have a fun time! We ended a little early so that everyone could help clean up and then they had donuts for dessert.

Musical Revue

The girls had a fun time performing in the Musical Revue! 

 

Opening night the Laurel class came to see the show. Friday night Grandma was in town was able to see the show! Jase also came with his friend, Logan Friday night. Rick and Josh were supposed to come that night but Josh ended up breaking his wrist at Soccer practice and spent the evening at the Instacare getting and x-ray and brace! So they came Monday night instead. 

 Janika came to visit on Sunday and so she was able to come see the girls on closing night! After the show the girls joined the rest of the cast at Denny's for ice-cream! 

Mother Daughter Tea Party

We had such a fun mother-daughter tea party today for Activity Days! They went all out with cute activities and yummy food! They had a spread of cucumber sandwiches, chips, fruit, mini key-lime pies, rice krispie treats, and cupcakes! They even provided lots of gluten free food for me and Jenna! The girls decorated their own party hats and also decorated cup-cakes.
