I did the closing lesson on the proclamation of the family. I divided the kids into three groups and had them try to fill in the blanks of certain sentences of the proclamation. It was harder for them than I thought it would be. Then the kids from each family built a mini-fort out of blocks based on principles of the proclamation of the family with a picture of their family inside. (Jared and I had taped principles from the proclamation on each block.) They needed to choose a few principles and explain how knowing or doing those things could protect their family. All in all it was a fun trip and we hope the kids remember the lessons on how to fortify the family!
